Are you passionate about delivering inspiring teaching and an exceptional student experience? Are you looking for an employer who will work with you to ensure you reach your full potential, by providing tailored development opportunities and a community of colleagues who will support you on your career journey?

We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic Forensic Scientist to help further the development of our Forensic Science programmes through experience in relevant professional contexts and/or research themes.

Forensic Science is a key component of longstanding and successful STEM provision at the University of Lincoln. The School of Natural Sciences brings together a range of disciplines, allowing students to benefit from a wide range of complementary teaching by academics with broad expertise from the molecular scale through to the environments in which we exist and everything in between. We aim to provide an exciting and stimulating environment where excellence in teaching and research is highly valued, allowing students and staff to pursue their scientific ambitions in excellent modern facilities.

The taught Forensic Science portfolio includes undergraduate Forensic Science and Forensic Chemistry, and postgraduate Forensic Science degrees. Our innovative undergraduate curriculum in Forensic Science was re-accredited in 2023 by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences and is based on four key themes: Biological Sciences, Analytical Sciences, Crime Scene Science and Professional Practice.

You will have a significant professional practice track record in Forensic Science and the potential to provide a sustained contribution to all aspects of the School's activities. An ability to teach current Forensic Science methods in biological sciences (particularly DNA methods) and/or a knowledge of emerging practice in this area would be highly advantageous.

The Department of Chemistry currently holds a Bronze Athena SWAN award.

If you would like further information or an informal discussion about this exciting opportunity, please contact Dan Matthews, programme lead for BSc Forensic Science, at dmatthews@lincoln.ac.uk or Dr Hilary Hamnett, Programme Lead for MSc Forensic Toxicology, at Hhamnett@lincoln.ac.uk.
