Part-time 22.5 hours per week

Birmingham Newman University is seeking a part-time Senior Executive Assistant. This role is primarily office-based, with the option for some remote working each week depending on business need.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a proactive and efficient Executive Support team in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. The role will provide executive and administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer, and other members of the University Executive team as required, including providing proactive support for diary and email management. The post-holder will also provide secretarial support for University Committees and working group meetings, and contribute to the efficient administrative operations of the Executive Office. The successful candidate should have:

  • A good general level of education.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Personal or Executive Assistant.
  • Proven experience of providing effective administrative support in a large and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of board/committee administration, including agenda management and minute-taking.
  • The ability to use the full range of Microsoft Office 365 packages with a high degree of competence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build credible relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior staff.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
