Anna Freud is a world-leading mental health charity for children, young people and their families. Our mission is to close the gap in wellbeing and mental health by advancing, translating, delivering, and sharing the best science and practice with everyone who impacts the lives of children, young people and their families. More information about Anna Freud is available on our website: http://www.annafreud.org/about/.
We value diversity and aim to have diverse workforce that reflects the community and our service users, in line with our vision, values and inclusion commitments. We encourage applications from all sections of the community.
The MSc in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice (DPCP) is a two-year full-time programme delivered by Anna Freud in partnership with University College London (UCL). The programme aims to provide students with theoretical grounding in child mental health, equipping them with research skills and supporting the development of practical clinical competencies in working with children and families. It is likely to serve as a basis for further advanced clinical or research training or to enable graduates to work in the field of child mental health.
We are recruiting for an Associate Clinical Tutor to act as personal academic tutor for up to 14 students on the programme. During the first year, each student has a minimum of three tutor meetings per term. In the second year, students are on placement at Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) or equivalent, so the post-holder will support their tutees’ placement experience by liaising with placement sites and supervisors, as well as problem solving any issues that may arise on placement. More broadly, responsibilities include facilitating teaching, delivering seminars, marking assignments, and professional development workshops with students.
You will demonstrate significant clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health settings, experience of teaching or providing training to adults, and experience of providing pastoral care or supervision to students/trainees/interns. A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students is essential for this role.
This diverse role offers you the unique opportunity to support students in their professional journey. You can also get involved in other tasks such as running workshops/journal clubs, liaising with placement providers, and supporting student shortlisting/interviewing.
Please email recruitment@annafreud.org with any job enquiries, or if you require assistance or experience difficulties when applying. Please note that successful candidate(s) will be asked to evidence their Right to Work in the UK post-job offer – we do not hold a sponsor licence therefore we are unable to provide Visa sponsorship.
