About the role

The Full Stack Developer will lead the development of new features and ensure continuous improvement and support for our Unit's in-house applications. In this pivotal role, ownership will be taken of crafting a coherent and reliable system, meticulously aligned with the specific needs of our users. The applications under the purview of this role include Tissue/Sample Management and Tracking, a Training Records System, and Biological Services Animal Management and Reporting. These systems are designed with a keen awareness of compliance with the Human Tissue Act regulations and guided by the principles entrenched in the Animal Scientific Procedures Act.

This is a fixed-term role until 31st March 2028 in the first instance.

About you

The objectives of the post are:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the existing in-house applications.
  • Address customer inquiries via a helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with any external consultants and the users to identify the root cause, and ultimately resolve technical issues surfaced by users.
  • Drive forward various support initiatives, including documentation improvements and other initiatives to enable customers to independently resolve their issues.
  • Innovate and implement new features, aligning seamlessly with the intended functionality outlined by the management team.
  • Applying web development skills for customisations, such as embedding scripts into iframes on the content management system (CMS), for updating and managing and functionality of the Institute’s intranet and internet websites, ensuring they meet user needs and comply with Institute standards.
