Operations and Decision Sciences Doctoral Program

Operations and Decision Sciences Doctoral Program belongs to the Institute of Operations and Decision Sciences. We have a vibrant academic community with three departments (Supply Chain Management; Decision Sciences; Operations Research and Actuarial Sciences.

We are seeking PhD students for a 4-year definite period starting in the Autumn semester of 2025.

We are looking for highly motivated and skilled candidates with a master’s degree in various disciplines to join us as PhD scholars. We offer a vibrant academic community with a friendly atmosphere and an international reputation. We appreciate interdisciplinary work.

The ideal candidate is interested in both theory and application and is open to cooperating with colleagues addressing business and/or social challenges.

Supervisors in the program lead impactful research in the fields of Business and Management as well as Management Science.

• Firm competitiveness – theoretical micro-foundations and empirical analyses led by Dávid Losonci
• Firm digitalisation and competitiveness – a supply network approach led by Dávid Losonci
• Life Cycle and Sustainability Assessment in Hydrogen Supply Chains led by Sofía De León Almaraz
• Agri-food supply chain management – resilience and operational sustainability led by Judit Nagy
• Applications of artificial intelligence in insurance led by Péter Vékás
• Mechanism Design in Matching Markets led by Péter Bíró

Approval and Enrolment

Admission to the PhD Program is subject to academic approval. Successful candidates will be enrolled in the Doctoral School of Business and Management. Operations and Decision Sciences Doctoral Program is a module of this Doctoral School.
