About The Role
This is a fixed term contract until 31 July 2025, for 7 hours per week.
This is an impact-driven project that aims to establish a network of insurance industry, regulatory bodies, non-profit organisations and SMEs, with a shared interest in collaborative response to vulnerabilities of SMEs in seeking insurance protection. This network will provide an effective and meaningful platform to listen to SMEs’ needs and concerns, to raise awareness of SMEs’ vulnerabilities, to find solutions that coordinate all relevant sectors, and to prepare and submit policy recommendations when the opportunity arises. We are seeking to recruit a research assistant to assist Professor Soyer and Dr Wang in this project.
The main task of this person will be to engage with SMEs in different parts of UK, insurers and insurance intermediaries and bring them together as part of a network. The successful candidate will also assist the researchers in collecting data from SMEs regarding their insurance purchasing habits. The holder will also be involved in organising and delivering dedicated cyber training sessions for SMEs.

Welsh Language Skills
The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
