Are you a motivated and adaptable individual, excited to contribute to innovative research in a collaborative and supportive environment?
About the role
We are seeking a Research Assistant to join us in exploring the human impact of building motion.
This interdisciplinary project addresses the urgent need to make tall buildings more sustainable by reducing material use and carbon emissions without compromising occupant comfort.
The project will, for the first time, provide actionable insights into the physiological and psychological impacts of building motion. These findings will be translated into design guidelines to help the construction industry create more efficient, lower-carbon structures that prioritize occupant well-being.
The research is conducted at the University of Bath’s pioneering VSimulators facility, which uses virtual reality and a moving hydraulic platform to simulate building sway under lifelike conditions.
