This is an exciting opportunity to join a very successful and busy academic department. The post will appeal if you are highly motivated and enjoy juggling a range of tasks using your excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Directed by the Head of Department and other senior academics, you will be line managed by the Departmental Administration Manager to successfully deliver on various projects and activities. You will become a member of a busy academic team, providing high quality and pro-active administrative support to the wider academic community. The work of this role is wide and varied, thus appealing to someone who is broad skilled and looking to become a valued member of a team of professional administrators. You will be a welcoming first point of contact for internal and external colleagues and provide proactive signposting support for the Department’s student community, and therefore this role requires a polished sense of professionalism, discretion and outstanding interpersonal skills.
You will liaise regularly with School and University Services such as Finance, Marketing, IT, HR and Student Education, therefore strong relationship-building skills are essential. Your ability to communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—will be key, alongside your adeptness in navigating various IT software. A deep respect for confidentiality will be essential in everything you do.
