The Elsoms R&D department invest in our own plant breeding programmes. Our goal is to produce new and improved varieties of arable and vegetable crops, playing our part in the global challenge for sustainable food production and food security.

Job Specification

A Genomics Researcher position is available within our R&D department's Lab Team. The role involves managing genomics research projects in the lab, focusing on identifying, sourcing, and developing genetic markers for traits relevant to commercial production, and conducting bioinformatics to support marker-assisted selection.

It is a full-time, permanent position based on 37.5 hour working week.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A PhD in genetics or plant sciences, or equivalent experience, is required.
• Candidates should have significant experience in plant biology/genetics, lab work, and developing laboratory protocols. Experience in agriculture or horticulture is desirable.
• Essential skills include outstanding scientific knowledge and methods, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Package:

• Salary:  £37,500.00 to £45,000.00 per annum
