The Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia is recruiting a Senior Research Associate to support the development of land use intervention scenarios that meet UK net zero, biodiversity and food security targets.

In this role you will be responsible for identifying and curating a suite of land use interventions for the UK and communicating these across an interdisciplinary research and stakeholder team. These land use interventions will be used within the wider project to assess future land use scenarios for the UK.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of independent research related to land use change, land use management, climate change, or scenario development. You will lead on ensuring that land use interventions used throughout the project are well represented by the modelling teams, well documented, and well communicated within the project, and externally with stakeholders. This requires excellent communication skills and a deep knowledge and understanding of land use change and land use management. You will also be coordinating the projects engagement with policy and land management stakeholder organisations for consultation and coproduction with expertise that sits outside of academia, for effective and useful interdisciplinary research.

As a Senior Research Associate you will be working on the Open_LAND project which is associated with the UKRI Land use for net zero, nature & people (LUNZ) hub. You will have a postgraduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant research area. You will also have experience of independent research and have or be working towards publications in respected journals or equivalent within the field and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner.
