Senior Lecturer and Academic Course Leader (ACL) for MA Communications, PR and Media

3-year Fixed Term Contract

1.0FTE, 37 hours per week

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of communications professionals?

We’re looking for a new Academic Course Leader and Senior Lecturer to teach our MA Communications, Public Relations (PR) and Media programme at the University of Gloucestershire.

Our one-year MA programme is all about equipping students with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need for a career in public relations today. Your role will be to coordinate and deliver teaching on subjects ranging from media relations and social media strategy to crisis communications, AI and influencer strategies.

We’re proud of our track record of helping our students to thrive in their chosen career with graduates going on to work for global brands, sports teams, local government, charities and so much more.

It is vital the course leader has strong links to industry to create new partnerships to enable students to create meaningful career and community connections. You will have not just experience of contemporary practice but also a future-focussed approach ensuring the teaching and learning programme adapts to emerging career trends.

While this course is intensely practical, it is not without academic rigour. We are looking for someone to be able to breakdown the theories behind public relations and how to develop key research skills to explore them. You do not need to be a current academic for this role, but you will have experience of teaching or training others.

This role sits within our School of Creative Arts and you will be part of a passionate team of academics who collaborate with each other and the community to enhance the experience and opportunities for students as well as promote our courses and the wider school.
