Shuttleworth College has a range of resources to support the delivery of courses in Land based and specialist Countryside management and Arboricultural subjects. These include Level two Btec in Countryside Management, Level three Technical Diploma in Land and Wildlife, Practical and Commercial Short Courses. This role is key in supporting our learners to achieve their land-based qualifications and supporting progression to their next level or onto to employment. You will work as part of our small dedicated horticultural team to support development of our Agricultural resources and represent the college in delivering new qualifications and skills to our learners.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Lecturer in Agriculture to join us at The Bedford Sixth Form. As a Lecturer you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:
Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels
Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
Managing students’ learning and provide a high quality learning experience.
Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
Teaching across a range of qualification types and levels including Btec and T-level.
Developing and actively maintaining schemes of work for subjects taught.
Planning and preparing theory and practical based lessons.
Researching and developing new topics and identify and create teaching materials.
About you:
Degree or equivalent in Agriculture
Level 3 vocational qualification in Agriculture or related equivalent qualification.
English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
Willingness to undertake additional training
Recent experience in the Agriculture industry
Experience as a teacher, trainer or instructor
Ability consistently to provide a high-quality learning experience for all students
Ability consistently to demonstrate high levels of performance within the job role
Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns
Current Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
