36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year to cover term times
We require a well organised, flexible and pro-active individual with experience of working with speakers of other languages (ESOL) to provide comprehensive administrative support to the ESOL team.
You will undertake a wide range of administrative responsibilities including producing correspondence and reports, diary management and communicating effectively with students, staff and parents/carers. You will also actively improve student attendance by identifying and acting immediately on problems relating to student attendance, punctuality and progress. You will engage ‘at risk’ learners in person and over the telephone, monitor and maintain student records.
You will have a minimum of 2 years’ administrative experience, with preferably some experience gained in the education sector. You should also have excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, and will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and experience of using IT systems/databases. You will have good keyboard skills with the ability to maintain both speed and accuracy. You will also have experience of working with people from a disadvantaged background, particularly those who are looked-after and ESOL students. You will be a good team player, able to work flexibly and on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
