About the role

The Ashmolean Museum is offering an exciting new opportunity to join its Digital Communications team which oversees the Museum’s digital communications channels, and is responsible for growing online visitor engagement, loyalty and revenue.

The Email Communications and Data Officer is a new role in the team with responsibility for designing and building emails and automated customer email journeys, and for the collection and reporting of analytics from our email and ticketing platforms, our CRM, social media platforms, Google Analytics, and other systems. There will also be opportunity to support wider communications projects and to work with our web and social media platforms.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.5 hours per week. A hybrid work pattern can be considered for this role with a maximum of 2 days per week from home. On occasion you may be required to work outside normal office hours.

About You

You will be technically and analytically-minded with an eye for detail, and comfortable with databases, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel. With experience of communications, membership, fundraising, ecommerce, or marketing activity, you will also be an excellent all-round communicator with the ability to write in an engaging way and to prioritize a busy workload.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, but this is not essential. It may also suit a candidate currently in a more technical or data-focused role who would like to move into communications or marketing within the arts and heritage sector.

Diversity

Our staff and students come from all over the world, and we proudly promote a friendly and inclusive culture. Diversity is positively encouraged, through diverse groups and champions, as well as a number of family-friendly policies, such as the right to apply for flexible working and support for staff returning from periods of extended absence, for example, shared parental leave.

How to apply

You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting evidence form using the attached template as part of your online application. Your supporting evidence form should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one. Both documents must be submitted to be considered.

We aim to provide a supportive working environment and are happy to discuss training and professional development opportunities. The Chair of this recruitment panel will be Sarah Casey, Head of Audiences and Online Engagement who can be contacted with enquiries relating to the role (sarah.casey@ashmus.ox.ac.uk). General queries about the recruitment and application process should be directed to the Recruitment team within our Human Resources department (recruitment@glam.ox.ac.uk).
