This is an exciting opportunity to join Leeds City College as the Teacher of Activities in our outstanding 14+ Academies. We are seeking a committed, talented and passionate individual to undertake this role to lead a unique, learner-centred curriculum designed to prepare learners for adulthood and the world of work.
This role is all about fostering independence, resilience, and self-awareness. You will deliver a broad range of topics that respond to learners' needs and interests, including Dealing with Change, Money Management, Growth Mindset, Social Justice, Living Independently, and other areas of PSHE and RSE. With a strong emphasis on real-world application, you will inspire learners to take ownership of their development, helping them navigate challenges and embrace opportunities.
As a Teacher of Activities, you will have the flexibility to shape the curriculum alongside your learners, creating a vibrant and meaningful learning environment that celebrates individuality, encourages participation, and builds essential life skills. The 14+ Academies are made up of the 14+ Apprenticeship Academy and 14+ P-TECH Academy. We are an alternative environment for young people in Years 10 and 11 who require a different education environment to what is offered in a mainstream school. Learners leave their previous education establishment and join the 14+ Academies full time.
