Albert McKern Clinical Research Fellow

Full-time: 40 hours per week

Fixed-term: for 12 months

The Opportunity:

This Albert McKern fellowship is aimed at enabling outstanding predoctoral obstetrics and gynaecology specialty trainees to obtain an externally funded clinical training PhD fellowship in a subject area related to the to study pain and distress during pregnancy, encompassing but not limited to the impacts of adverse pregnancy on the mother, fetus and subsequent generations, and how pregnancy is impacted by adverse maternal health. This post is full-time (40 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. Start date flexible and the post will last 12 months from the start date.

Your skills and attributes for success: 

• Outstanding predoctoral clinical fellow looking to obtain an externally funded clinical training PhD fellowship.
• Excellent team player and collaborator to contribute as a key member of a team of researchers, under supervision from the Principal Investigator.
• Exceptional communications skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate and up-to-date records to document research progress and take a lead role in writing up data for publication. 
• Drive and motivation to undertake training in in clinical and laboratory methods and maintain clinical skills by participation in clinical on-call, out-patient clinic. investigation lists and continuing professional development.
