The role

The post holder will provide support in the use of the Chemspeed workstation and ensure that all research equipment in the EPSRC equipment suite is fully functional. You will be responsible for its day-to-day use, such as managing, maintaining and supporting a range of chromatography, analytical and chemical synthesis equipment.

What will you be doing?

  • Setting up experiments, analysing results as well as service and maintenance of the Chemspeed Workstation.
  • Support use of Design of Experiment software
  • Operating, servicing, maintenance and calibration of other specialist equipment.
  • Writing risk assessments and method statements/standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.
  • Training others in specialist techniques, processes and procedures where necessary

You should apply if

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deal with and prioritise a range of ongoing tasks at the same time, and to be able to cope under pressure
  • Ability to review and advise on procedures associated with chemical synthesis.
  • Ability to work independently towards pre-defined goals.
  • Consistently maintaining a high level of accuracy and precision in all areas of work.
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practise and safety.

Contract type: Fixed term contract until 08/09/2025 or until the return of the postholder
