Research Scientist in Intestinal Fibrosis

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a post-doctoral scientist to join Prof. Simmons’s lab to investigate mechanisms of intestinal fibrosis in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The post holder will conduct a research project aiming to define cellular and molecular mechanisms of chronic injury resolution in IBD. The work will involve use of a series of new approaches refined to capture multimodal molecular information from lesional tissue and will examine the role of specific signalling pathways in fibrosis establishment at a functional biological level. As such this post will involve exploring novel biological hypotheses as to the induction and persistence of intestinal fibrosis with use of advanced model systems and a series of cutting-edge technologies to address this question. The post-doc will work iteratively with a multidisciplinary team already employed as part of the work.
