Looking for a new opportunity to make a difference in equality of opportunity in higher education? Following continuing success and expansion of the Specialist Evidence, Evaluation and Research (SEER) service since 2019, we are delighted invite applications for our new Associate Director (SEER) role.
As a new and exciting role, the Associate Director (SEER) will lead SEER forward as it continues to grow and develop both its services and membership base. The role will ensure ongoing consolidation of existing and developing services and will contribute to service delivery for our members, particularly in the onboarding and settling-in stages for new members, and delivery in more complex areas. The AD will be responsible for leading an effective organisation which can deliver its mission and organisational goals. Along with the Applied Inspiration executive team, and with the support of the Head of SEER, the AD will be responsible for supporting long-term service development, financial sustainability and building the SEER brand, presence and credibility in the higher education sector, as well as the membership base. The AD will need to apply their experience and capability to building and developing our team and to meeting the challenges of developing SEER to its full potential over the longer term.
The AD should have a firm belief in the value of data-driven, evidence-based policy and practice, and experience of working with a range of data, evaluation and monitoring, preferably in the higher education sector. The AD will need to keep up to date with policy and regulation, providing briefings and/or recommendations and advice to members and the wider internal team, as well as pushing communications and commentary out from SEER to inform sector issues and interest areas, including championing and disseminating SEER practice and insights.
The AD should also have expertise and knowledge in the areas of equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion, and should be prepared to contribute to the broader Applied Inspiration leadership and services, across wider research, evaluation and innovation projects, as well as services supporting the development, drafting and submission of access and participation plans.
This role requires a motivated person capable of working flexibly and independently in a fast-paced environment, with initiative and drive to contribute towards the leadership of a successful organisation. We need someone who is inspirational, capable, thoughtful, and prepared to work hard to achieve results.
The role will manage the Head of SEER and SEER Evaluation Managers.
