Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice has been committed to advancing developments in health and social care for over 25 years, tracing our origins back to 1991 when the Liverpool School of Nursing and Midwifery joined with Liverpool Polytechnic. Today, we continue to strive to tackle health inequalities, social exclusion, and deprivation in local communities (and beyond) through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula and a growing programme of international partnerships.

Due to unprecedented growth within the School’s the undergraduate department, we are now looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to deliver a range of high-quality teaching materials and associated student assessment activities. You will contribute to the development of modules, programmes, and curriculum changes, and be able to engage in one of the Faculty’s research themes.

You will need to be registered with a professional regulatory body (e.g., NMC/HCPC) and educated to master’s level. You will also have significant experience within a relevant field of healthcare, including some experience of teaching post-registration students. We are seeking a qualified professional nurse advocate (PNA) to support our PNA programme delivery and student wellbeing offer. You will be an enthusiastic and committed individual that is dedicated to providing an outstanding student experience. You will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be driven to improve the lives of patients, their carers, and their families. This is your opportunity to be a key contributor in providing a transformative educational experience for students.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction, and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance will be required for this post at the appropriate level and Occupational Health clearance is required for the posts regulated by the NMC/HCPC (to be undertaken upon appointment).

LJMU is an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all background and communities irrespective of age, transgender status, disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and religion or belief. All our appointments are made on merit.

Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
