Duties of the Role
We are looking to recruit a Multi-trade Supervisor (Electrical Bias), who will join our Estate Management Section. The successful candidate will be responsible for all types of Electrical system on site carrying out installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance across our planned preventative maintenance requirement as well as our reactive maintenance requirement. The person will be competent in general maintenance tasks as well and would be expected to help out in other areas from time to time. The successful candidate will manage external contractors where necessary approving their safe system of work etc, and also take on small projects. There will also be a requirement for you to work under their own initiative and order their own parts etc (full training given). You must be willing to undertake an Electrical AP course, funded by the university, if you don’t already hold one.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The successful candidate will have completed a recognised and registered Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent programme of training. The award of an NVQ in Installing and Commissioning Electrical Systems and Equipment at level 3 or equivalent, along with having completed a recognised C&G electrical qualification is essential to the post. It would be favourable for the candidate if they were an Electrical AP or had extensive experience/training in BMS systems.
We are looking for a candidate who is generally knowledgeable in all aspects of electrical maintenance, will be able to manage others when required and will be able to work well under their own initiative. Someone safe and confident who can find solutions to problems and knows their own limits would do well in this role.
