Domestic Services Team Leader

SALARY & HOURS: Band 3 – 08:00 – 17:00

The Corporate and Professional Services departments are the cornerstone of the University.  They each provide essential and valuable support to both each other and the Academic departments, helping the University to function in the most efficient and productive way, ensuring that the students’ experience is second to none.

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to work alongside our in-house cleaning team at the University of Buckingham to ensure all areas are kept to a high standard. We are looking for a general all-rounder who has good attention to detail with a positive can-do attitude, enjoys working in a customer facing role, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service to our staff, students, and guests. 

Main duties are including but not limited to: 

To be a fundamental part of the Estates team by managing the day-to-day operations of the Domestic Services Team. You will be required to provide supervision to the cleaning team alongside working with them for a set number of hours per week. You will manage material orders and stock checks, vacation student room cleans, work allocations and resources to ensure all areas are covered and completed to a high standard. On occasions, you may be required to deputise for the Domestic Services Manager.

General knowledge of Health and Safety legislation is essential as you will be required to carry out Risk assessments, method statements and COSHH safety data sheets to ensure that you and your team are working safely. The ideal candidate would have a flexible approach to working hours and would be expected to take part in 24-hour call out rota.
