Lecturer (LCCA)

London College of Contemporary Arts

At LCCA, we’ve had huge uptake in student numbers and this demand had led us to adopt a 7- day operational model of working. As such, we’re looking for lecturers across a range of modes – daytime, evenings, and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). We are more than happy to consider working patterns to suit individual needs.

We are looking for individuals who are progressive, forward-thinking and engage in innovative teaching methods, including blended learning and chunk experiential learning.

You will be able to combine traditional classroom teaching with digital tools to engage our diverse range of student in their learning journey!

You will have experience of contemporary creative practice and be able to work across both analogue and digital formats and be able to communicate a broad range of practical and theoretical issues through hands on teaching and workshops. Ability to inspire and motivate students is a must. Experience of academic and administrative management is desirable.

You will have a good honours and master’s degree and recent experience of Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) teaching, and detailed knowledge of contemporary practice within one or more subject areas.

  • Shows commitment to understanding the range of students’ experiences within a course
  • Ability to motivate and work in a collaborative way with staff and students
  • Demonstrate, promote and facilitate collaborative ways of working across the organisation
  • Ability to design and deliver units of study that introduce and develop the complex range of theoretical and practical concerns of the discipline
  • Demonstrate an understanding of assessment practice including how to assess the work and progress of students and provide constructive, developmental and challenging feedback
  • Demonstrate relevant professional networks and relationships that bring expert external knowledge to student learning, employment and enterprise
  • Effectively plan and manage workload, prioritising work to meet deadlines and achieve personal, team and course objectives
