Arts University Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Learning Development Advisor who will work within a small team of specialists, alongside the library team. You will provide specialist academic support to undergraduate and postgraduate students on both a one-to-one basis and as part of a group, either within programme or as an extracurricular activity. You will support students with skills such as academic writing, critical thinking, essay structure and presentation skills. 

About You:

  • You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent  and have experience of working within higher education, with knowledge and a background of supporting those with disabilities, SPLDs, medical and mental health conditions.
  • You will be a motivated and engaged individual, who is able to explain complex ideas to a variety of audiences. 
  • You will be confident in your abilities to teach on a one to one basis as well as to cohort size groups.

About The Role:

  • The role of Learning Development Advisor, is to support students from undergraduate to postgraduate in all aspects of academic skills, as well as supporting the transition between years. 
  • The role is to develop and deliver content suitable to all, on a variety of academic skills to support students during their degree and postgraduate studies. Alongside this, is the creation and maintenance of Academic Skills webpages, ensuring they are up to date and relevant for a 21st education.
