We are committed to providing opportunities for all and have been transforming lives in London and further afield for over 120 years. We are part of a diverse group comprising London South Bank University, University Academies and Colleges and an enterprise centre. We take pride in the value that our degree programmes add, the employability and success of our graduates and the impact of our world-leading applied research.
To build on our strengths and position us best for future success, we are currently undergoing an academic re-shaping exercise, which involves combining eight schools of study into three Colleges, each with three or four Schools within them. This will facilitate enhanced strategic leadership across related subject areas, promote synergies between teaching and research, and provide a strong platform for sustainable growth. Our new three-College structure will come into being in January 2025.
The College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) will will bring together colleagues from the current Schools of Allied and Community Health, Applied Sciences (which will become the School of Applied and Health Sciences) and Nursing and Midwifery, building on the University’s teaching, research and innovation strengths in this area to deliver our ambitions for future growth and development.
The new College presents an exciting opportunity to bring these areas into a more co-ordinated and effective alignment, to raise the profile of health and life sciences at LSBU, and to forge innovative teaching, research and enterprise collaborations.
We are now seeking a College Director of Operations: Health and Life Sciences. The new Director will support the Executive Dean and College Executive Committee in effective planning, decision-making, and identification of strategic opportunities. They will have the opportunity to oversee the development and implementation of strategic plans, ensuring these align with the wider University strategies and planning cycles. We seek candidates with substantial administrative experience and understanding of administrative policy and practice, preferably within the Higher Education sector. Candidates will have ability to successfully undertake the management of significant and complex projects, and will be required to complete a coaching and mentoring qualification (if not already completed).
At LSBU, you’ll get to contribute to a vibrant and dynamic culture, which is fuelled by purpose, built around people, and genuinely diverse. You’ll be trusted and recognised for your unique contribution.
You will be part of a great team, turning your passion into purpose.
The closing date for applications, which should be in the form of a CV and cover letter and sent to lsbucdohealth@minervasearch.com is 18 December 2024.
Interviews will take place on 27 January and 28 January 2025.
