Professorship of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science and St John’s College are delighted to offer this opportunity for an outstanding researcher of high international standing with a track record of research that has significantly influenced the field of Computer Science, and who can demonstrate the vision, leadership and enthusiasm to maintain and develop an internationally leading research programme in computer science, and to further the academic and strategic development of the Department.
This post is a statutory professorship. The successful candidate will be an outstanding, internationally recognised researcher in computer science, with a proven record of research achievement. They will establish and lead a research team in their area of expertise and will also play a leading role in further developing computer science at Oxford.
The professorship is available with effect from 1 September 2025. The closing date for applications is 12:00 noon UK time on Monday 10 March 2025. Interviews are expected to be held on 22 and 23 May 2025.
