About the role:
We are looking for Level 1 Swimming Teacher to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling Department based at Bedford College. As a Swimming Teacher you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by:
Providing support and assistance to all customers and other staff members.
Presenting a professional image to all customers
Teaching people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming techniques and skills and build their confidence within the water.
Ensuring the safety of all those in your care.
Planning and delivering lessons according to skill set/age of students
Identifying individuals abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential
Correcting incorrect swimming techniques and through evaluation and positive feedback help to improve performance
About you:
Current NPLQ
Awareness of health and safety practices in relation to pools and sports facilities
Able to understand and follow instructions
Able to motivate swimmers and build their confidence within the water
Ability to supervise customers and deal with difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
Ability to obtain a recognised lifesaving qualification and maintain fitness levels to effect pool rescues when required
Positive role model to swimmers
Create a fun, positive environment for children and adults to swim in.
Provide a safe environment for education
Flexible approach to work e.g. evenings and weekends
