The successful candidate will play a critical role in leading research and engagement activities within the "Advancing Open Research and Data Stewardship" project. The initiative aims to enhance research practices across disciplines by promoting open research principles and data stewardship. The candidate will gain valuable leadership experience, contribute to the collection and analysis of research data, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop best practices for open research. They will also contribute to raising the profile of the University both internally and externally.
About You
The ideal candidate is a proactive, enthusiastic individual with a strong background in research, preferably currently enrolled in or recently completed a PhD program in any discipline. You are an excellent communicator, able to engage effectively with researchers at various career stages and from diverse disciplines. With strong interpersonal skills and experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, you are adept at organizing events, managing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines.
You have a keen understanding of data lifecycle management, FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data principles, and are familiar with the legal and ethical considerations of data sharing. Leadership potential and the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team are essential, along with a demonstrated initiative to take responsibility for key project tasks.
Attention to detail, a structured approach, and a collaborative mindset are qualities that will help you thrive in this role. Your experience with open science, research data management, or cross-disciplinary collaboration will also be highly advantageous as you work to shape the future of open research and data stewardship.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.
