Applications are invited for a Research Associate (to join the group of Prof Kurt De Vos (PI) at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN), University of Sheffield, UK.
You will work on a 2-year Alzheimer’s Society-funded collaborative research project investigating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia caused by mutations in the C9orf72 gene. Our aim is to develop therapeutic strategies to tackle C9orf72 haploinsufficiency.
In this post, you will, under direction of the PIs, be expected to design, execute and interpret experiments, compile reports and publications, and to present at lab group and scientific meetings.
Candidates should have a PhD in neuroscience, molecular/cell biology or a related discipline and experience of delivering high quality research. Please contact Prof Kurt De Vos (k.de_vos@sheffield.ac.uk) to discuss the project further prior to application.
