This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Technical Team at our Farnham Campus. We are looking for a skilled individual to support students and provide technical tuition in metal fabrication and a range of metal casting processes.
You will oversee the day-to-day care and operation of the Metalworking facilities, providing knowledge, expertise, and experience in creative applications of metalwork processes and safe working practices.
You will also provide support for student learning, including the delivery of technical workshops and demonstrations into metal working equipment used in cutting, forming, fabrication and finishing techniques alongside metal casting in bronze and pewter.
This position requires knowledge and understanding of the H&S hazards associated with use of specialist equipment and materials needed when creating metal artworks. Experience of relevant safe working practices and a high degree of knowledge in all appropriate H&S procedures is a must to ensure the safety of our learners.
You will be able to demonstrate a positive and flexible approach when supporting both students and staff. This is a dynamic role that needs excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to apply initiative, problem solve and work as part of a team.
Actual salary for this part time role is £17,763 to £19,789 per annum.
If this sounds like you, please do apply.
The University has a dedicated Learning & Organisational Development team who work with staff and managers to capitalise on training opportunities. Training will be provided to the successful candidate to build upon existing skill base and fill any gaps in knowledge.
