The Institute of Creativity and Innovation (ICI) is a dual-degree institute founded by Xiamen University (XMU) and the University for the Creative Arts (UCA). We’re located on XMU’s Zhangzhou campus, which boasts a park-like atmosphere, with mountains on one side and Amoy Bay on the other. It’s a short commute to beautiful beaches, or the city of Xiamen, the multicultural centre of South-East China.
Our Lecturers/Senior Lecturers have a deep understanding of subject-specific expertise combined with the ability to engage and inspire students.
We have multiple requirements, and these will be permanent contracts. UCA offers a competitive compensation package that includes:
We are offering positions in teaching practice-focused modules that support students in developing technical skills in digital media alongside understanding their practice in relation to theory and context. We utilise an innovative teaching approach, fostering experimentation and combining lectures and seminar discussions with creative workshops and tutorials that guide students in considering the theoretical and contextual relevance of their creative works.
All units are designed to help students develop their communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and innovation skills, while developing compassionate intelligence. We expect our students to become independent learners, applying these skills to areas such as creative computing, XR, interaction design, animation, sound, moving image, multi-media installation, and other areas where they can push the boundaries of the digital media arts.
It is essential that you have at least 2 years' experience of teaching within Higher Education in a relevant subject area. Ideally you will have a PhD in a relevant area or can convince us you have equivalent professional experience.

We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity within teaching and working environments.
