The RAD is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all colleagues to share this commitment.
Great opportunity for an Admissions Officer to join the Faculty of Education.
About the role
The Royal Academy of Dance is a dynamic organisation dedicated to advancing standards of dance education and teaching, and to promoting and investing in the development of dance worldwide. The Faculty of Education offers internationally recognised qualifications including university-validated degrees and RAD awards.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Admissions Officer where the successful candidate will be responsible for the receipt and processing of applications for all university-validated awards, as well as awards validated by the Royal Academy of Dance under its Charter. The post-holder will arrange audition days, co-ordinate the registration and induction activities for new students, open days and contribute to the organisation of the prestigious RAD Awards Day.
You will provide a professional administrative service and offer excellent customer care to prospective applicants from the point of initial enquiry through to enrolment. You will need to have previous experience of administrative work in a data-sensitive customer-centred environment, ideally gained from a higher education context. You will have sound interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, students and the general public.
You will have the ability to work within a team and to act with discretion whilst maintaining strict confidentiality. Competent written and oral communication skills in English are essential along with strong IT skills, keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work effectively in this busy role.
This is a rewarding and challenging role within the Faculty of Education at the Royal Academy of Dance, which is a forward thinking, equal opportunities employer. Additional benefits to the salary include 25 days paid holiday, Bupa cash plan scheme (after 6 months), pension scheme, season ticket loan, cycle to work, childcare voucher schemes and life assurance.
Due to the nature of the RAD’s work, the successful candidate will be required to have an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Applications which do not include a full employment history and reference details will not be taken forward to the shortlisting stage.
The post you are applying for is classed as having a high degree of contact with children and involves ‘regulated activity’. As such it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
All colleagues are required to promote and safeguard the welfare of children they are responsible for, or come into contact with, and to adhere to and ensure compliance with the RADs Safeguarding Policy at all times.
We encourage and welcome applications from people with a disability, people from minority ethnic backgrounds, and people from the LGBTQIA+ community.
Please let us know if you have any access needs for the interview.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and bring relevant documents if invited to attend an interview. We are unable to sponsor people under the Skilled Worker scheme.
No agencies please.
