This is an excellent opportunity for a friendly and well organised full-time administrator to join a small team working in the office of the School of the Biological Sciences in central Cambridge.
You will be able to use your technical and communication skills to support staff who deliver our teaching to around 2,500 students. The role's primary purpose is to be responsible for maintaining and running services provided by the School for the smooth administration of student matters. This includes designing and updating documents, coordinating teaching input from the departments and responsibility for maintaining websites, student records, timetables and class lists. The role holder also has direct responsibility for administration of interdepartmental courses.
Our ideal candidate will be able to communicate clearly and effectively both in written work and orally with staff and students throughout the University and be able to work with colleagues in wide range of professional roles. You will be educated to at least degree level, and will be highly competent in standard software packages, ideally with web-authoring experience, as well as being enthusiastic about learning how to use a range of non-standard software. You will need to be able to prioritise your own workload and be able to work effectively on your own as well as within a small group.
