We are looking to appoint an experienced Research Assistant to join the research group led by Professor David Strutt, to carry out experiments to understand the molecular basis of the formation of planar polarity protein complexes.
The successful candidate will perform structure-function studies to analyse core planar polarity pathway protein complex formation. The work will primarily involve insect tissue culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, and light microscopy (confocal and also FRAP and FRET-FLIM). Experiments may also be performed in Drosophila tissues, additionally involving fly husbandry and genetics.
Applicants must have a BSc or MSc (or equivalent experience) and several years relevant research lab experience. Tissue culture, molecular biology and fluorescence light microscopy (e.g. confocal) expertise are also essential.
