We are delighted to be recruiting a Research Development Manager to join our Research Partnerships and Innovation Directorate. The role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to delivering the University of Liverpool’s research and impact ambitions by supporting efforts to secure significant research funding as outlined in our new Liverpool 2031 strategy.
The role is varied, from horizon scanning and scoping projects with leading academics through to project managing large strategic bids and supporting early career academics in applying for prestigious fellowships. You will contribute to a research environment that helps build a pipeline of research activity and creates the infrastructure to support it.
You will work independently with academics advising on funding drivers, helping to forge links across the institution and supporting the creation and strengthening of networks that contribute to the university’s research ambitions.
You will have a degree or equivalent qualification and relevant research development experience. You will be a self-starter, team player and enjoy collaborative working. You will have an excellent appreciation of the research funding landscape and be an excellent facilitator with experience of working with a range of audiences, engaging staff, and supporting organisational transformation.
The role is permanent (subject to funding). Opportunities to undertake the role part time or flexibly will be considered.
Commitment to Diversity
The University of Liverpool is committed to enhancing workforce diversity. We actively seek to attract, develop, and retain colleagues with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We welcome applications from all genders/gender identities, Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, individuals living with a disability, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
