Université Paris Dauphine – PSL, London campus seeks to recruit a Lecturer in Mathematics to teach various modules for students on its interdisciplinary Bachelor’s in Economics and Management. 

Université Paris Dauphine – PSL is a prestigious French university, offering a wide-range of degrees and programmes in the sphere of the organisational and decision sciences (economics, management, social sciences, law, political sciences, mathematics and computer science). EQUIS accredited since 2009, the University is a leading international higher education establishment and is highly placed in the international academic rankings. Université Paris-Dauphine is a founding member of PSL (Paris Sciences et Lettres Research University), which was 33rd in the Shanghai ranking 2024, 24th in the QS World University Rankings 2025, 19th in the CWUR ranking and 2nd in Times Higher Education best young universities. High-level research is undertaken with academics at PSL having been awarded 27 Nobel Prizes and 10 Fields Medals.

The London Campus of Université Paris Dauphine – PSL welcomes each year around 300 students for a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education programmes. It was registered with the UK Office for Students as an English Higher Education provider in 2022. Students of Université Paris Dauphine – PSL are now eligible for the UK high-potential individuals (HPI) visa for those who have been educated at 37 of the world’s leading universities including PSL.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To deliver high-quality teaching in mathematics at undergraduate level on London campus (46-52 Pentonville Road, N1 9HF, London).
  • To participate in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments.
  • To conduct original research in a relevant area of Mathematics, contributing to the University’s research output and reputation.
  • To be involved in research projects of the University.

Person specification 

  • Excellent subject knowledge.
  • A portfolio of research publications, confirming research experience, or equivalent professional experience in a relevant area.
  • Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level is desirable.
  • PhD in Mathematics is an advantage.
  • Ability to teach Mathematical Tools, Optimisation in Mathematics and Linear Algebra modules is an advantage.

Skills and aptitude 

  • Evidence of ability to teach and to supervise academic work in an international environment.
  • Very good spoken and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Good planning and organisation skills.
  • Ability to use a range of teaching methods in the classroom and promote a stimulating learning environment.
  • Creative skills and ideas for planning practical and interesting lessons.
  • Effective listening skills.

  • Enthusiasm and a sense of purpose in the delivery and assessment of the curriculum.

The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). 

Salary

Depending on experience and education background, from £45,000 to £50,000 per year.
