Salary: £31,387 to £34,866 per annum, (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (£34866 with relevant PhD).
A fixed term post has become available to conduct research into advanced laser induced phased arrays. This will require working with class IV laser systems and their associated laser safety systems, MECA500 robotics, Aconity SLM systems, and the processing of FMC laser ultrasound data as well as the design and build of complex optical systems. The role will include electronic hardware design and low level driver programming in a C/C++ Linux environment as well as advanced signal processing conducted using matlab/octave.
Candidates must have a PhD, or be near to completion, in Physics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or other relevant engineering or science subject, and experience in Optics system design and construction is essential.
The post is offered on a full time (35.25 hours per week), fixed term contract until 31 October 2025. Job share arrangements may be considered.
