UoB Manchester is an ambitious, teaching-focussed provider of undergraduate and postgraduate education, primarily aimed at a widening participation audience. Based in the heart of Manchester, UOBM is a growing academic centre focused on Business and Health programmes.
Continued growth in demand for our student-focused courses has led to the opportunity to expand our exceptional delivery team through the addition of a permanent lecturer in Computing.
We are looking for an experienced lecturer with a solid grounding in Computing subject areas such as programming, databases, and operating systems, along with some knowledge and awareness of Business studies such as business information systems.
The successful applicant will be employed to lecture on a range of modules but will initially focus on designing and writing module resources for our Computing course, before starting to teach modules from May 2025. Our ideal candidate will have a wide suite of subject knowledge. The successful candidate will be familiar with managing virtual learning environments, designing assessments, and the development of high-quality learning resources. Above all, the successful candidate will be motivated, inspirational, supportive, with a passion for developing our students. All employees will be required to teach face-to-face at our building on Manchester Science Park.
If you are enthused with your subject, motivated by helping students develop their professional knowledge and skills, share our belief in the transformational nature of education, can work in a high-tempo environment, and wish to be rewarded for your teaching excellence, then we would like to talk to you about opportunities at ARU London.
You will have a good first degree, and either appropriate postgraduate or professional qualifications. Experience of face-to-face teaching, along with a strong grounding in industry will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will need to evidence their right to work in the UK.
