Associate Lecturer - Business with Academic Skills

Hours: Sessional Post – Up to 18 hours per week

Start date: January 2025 onwards 

The University of Bolton, Manchester (UOBM) is an exciting new higher education provider in the heart of Manchester, with a focus on high quality teaching and assessment, and an inclusive, business-like culture. We are as much a leadership school as a business school. As we launch our range of undergraduate courses, we are looking to recruit high quality, highly motivated lecturers with a strong background in practice to match their academic qualifications.

We are looking for associate lecturers in general business and academic skills with utility across a range of key business disciplines such as Human Resource Management, Marketing, Operations, Research and Writing, etc. We are especially interested in receiving applications from those from industry and commerce looking to start a new career in higher education. Our ideal candidates will have deep knowledge of the wider business environment, be high-energy, and will be outstanding lecturers. They will be passionate about improving the life-chances of our students, and have a deep interest in their business specialisms.

Successful candidates will work from our building at Manchester Science Park. All staff are required to teach face-to-face, but may occasionally be required to teach online, so familiarity with online delivery, and Zoom in particular, will be an advantage.

Salaries are competitive and based on candidates' qualifications, experience, and utility. Fellowship of the HEA or an undertaking to achieving this will also be an advantage. You will be qualified to Master’s degree level. Associate contracts are offered on a fixed-term trimesterly basis. We operate three trimesters per academic year. Candidates must have an unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom without caveat.
