About the Role
For informal queries, please email James Robinson (Head of Department) at j.c.robinson@warwick.ac.uk or Oliver Cooper (current Head of Administration - Mathematics) at o.cooper@warwick.ac.uk.
Warwick Mathematics Institute is one of the top mathematics departments in the UK and one of Warwick University’s signal success stories and we are seeking a highly motivated Head of Administration to play a key role in both the strategic and operational aspects of the department.
We are a large department with around 100 permanent academics, 30 professional services staff, and an undergraduate intake of over 300 a year.
As Head of Administration, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the department’s administrative support, while taking into account strategic departmental and university initiatives.
You will work closely with the Head of Department and other members of the senior management team to provide high-level professional leadership and management support for the development and delivery of the department’s plans and objectives. This includes comprehensive support for the department’s teaching activities, including the student experience, oversight of financial and resource planning, HR matters, and internal and external communications and assurance exercises (e.g TEF, REF, Athena Swan).
About You
Along with a good first degree, you should have strong leadership and management experience within higher education, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to think strategically, influence and negotiate, and effect change. You will be resilient, flexible, and willing to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
