This role is responsible for the provision of comprehensive administrative support to the School’s undergraduate programmes, supporting colleagues and students on their journey from recruitment through to graduation. You will provide administrative support for our undergraduate courses within the School of Engineering, and support administration as required for our joint Undergraduate, Degree Apprenticeship and Postgraduate Taught programmes.
As well as being the initial point of contact for student administration and undertaking routine tasks, you will contribute and assist with Welcome Week, enrolment, graduation, award ceremonies and other student events. You will also be required to support the production of student communication and publicity.
To support the School at student events there is a requirement for occasional weekend working. Given the nature of this role, there is an expectation that the postholder will work a minimum of 60% of their time based in the office.
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
About You
You will have experience of working in an administrative role within Higher Education and understand the priorities of the environment, students and academic staff. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to provide accurate advice and guidance on administrative processes or policies. You will have experience of dealing with senior members of staff and are trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential or sensitive matters.
You must be able to deliver a varied workload to tight deadlines whilst paying meticulous attention to detail and ensuring the clarity and accuracy of your work. You will be able to work independently and be resourceful and self-motivated, using initiative to find solutions to problems.
