The Role
The purpose of this Research Assistant Role in the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology at Newcastle University is to conduct research on the project ‘The afterlives of war-related injury: Mapping civilian trauma pathways in conflict settings'.
The project is funded through the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship scheme. Led by Dr Craig Jones, ‘The afterlives of war-related injury' is a 4-year, interdisciplinary study into the immediate and long-term effects of physical and mental injury among civilian populations in Gaza and Iraq. The role involves desk-based research and remote methods (e.g. interviews and surveys) to produce a body of data about the effects of injury at different scales.
The post provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to work with leading researchers in political geography and to gain valuable experience in contributing to collaborative research.
For informal enquiries, please contact Al James at AL.JAMES@NEWCASTLE.AC.UK.
This role is fixed term for 12 months.
