Department

The Student Fees and Funding team are a friendly and supportive team with around 34 staff who manage a wide range of financial support and funding opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants and students. This includes scholarships, bursaries and loan programmes, international schemes and central financial assistance.

This post is an exciting fixed term opportunity to develop your skills and experience in university administration. You will oversee and optimise operational delivery of the undergraduate financial support package, including the Crankstart Scholarships and Oxford Bursary, and the Oxford Assistance Fund. This post may also be considered a secondment opportunity.

About the Role

This 12-month role is an exciting opportunity to work on the forefront of the development and delivery of access to education at Oxford, part of the group responsible for administering a wide range of financial support, including undergraduate bursaries, financial assistance funding and other on-course awards. 

Your specific role will oversee the operational management of the undergraduate Crankstart Scholarship programme and the Oxford Bursary Scheme, amounting to over £10m in bursary support for around 2,500 students. You will also lead on the Oxford Assistance Fund, the Care Experienced and Estranged Student Bursary and the Student Support Bursary. Your role will line manage three members of staff and you will also provide support to the Head of On-course Funding.

About You

You will need to be organised, proactive, meticulous, and able to manage and prioritise multiple competing demands. The successful candidate will be experienced in designing and improving administrative processes to support strategic aims, including production of narrative reporting and analysis.

An analytical and problem-solving approach is key, with a drive for continuous improvement, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and at all levels within and outside the collegiate university.
