Job description
The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings, and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world. The Courtauld is currently undergoing a capital transformation project that will make The Courtauld’s world-class artworks, research and teaching accessible to more people – in the UK and internationally.
The Fees, Funding and Compliance Manager is a new 0.7 FTE role based in the Student and Academic Services department reporting to the Admissions and Enrolment Manager. This is an important role with management responsibility for the control and report generation of student fee income, UKVI and visa activities and US Federal Loans.
The role holder will lead the ongoing maintenance of the Student Accounting Module (SAM), finance related tables and functionality within the SITS Student Records System and any associated interfaces. The role holder will be responsible for generating student fee invoices and debt chasing of outstanding funds. They will work closely with the Finance department to ensure that there are accurate and regular transfers of student fee data to our main accounting system, Agresso. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for external relationships, such as the Student Loans Company, US Government Student Federal Loans and UKVI.
You will have:
• Extensive student finance experience in higher education (HE).
• Excellent knowledge of visa application processes and support in a HE context.
• Comprehensive knowledge of US Government Federal Student Loans, including the processes related to maintenance of records, compliance, annual audit and dispersement of funds.
• Good experience of the Tribal SITS student database and in particular the SITS SAMs module.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with staff, students and external bodies.
• Excellent attention to detail and able to work effectively and accurately under pressure to tight deadlines.
• Experience of supervising staff workloads.
