The role of a Facilities Assistant is to provide a high level of hospitality and service to all staff, students and Guests to the University of Buckingham. The successful candidate will have basic IT skills and hold a full UK driving licence. Below outlines the basic duties of the facilities assistant role:

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  1. General delivery, collection and portering service, including internal and external post / parcels and estates departments stores.
  2. Daily room preparation and monitoring to ensure all spaces are ready for university teaching and meeting schedules.
  3. Driving the University mini-bus when required to transport staff and students around the university grounds and local area.
  4. Providing basic first aid to all staff, students and visitors on completion of training.
  5. Meeting and greeting of visitors when required during university events and open days.
  6. Providing advice and assistance to staff, students and visitors to their destination on campus.
  7. Undertaking staff room moves room set ups including moving furniture and services.
  8. Replacing room door locks where directed.
  9. Ensuring all facility requirements are met for functions and conferences and events.
  10. Assisting with the correct level of service on special occasions or University ceremonies.
  11. Assisting with any day-to-day Estates operational running under direction from the estates services manager.
  12. This role may be required to work at weekends in support of key University events.
  13. To carry out such duties as are required and are commensurate with the level of this post. Estates operate a “one team approach” to the delivery of services, therefore post holders will be expected to support and cover for staff in other areas of the Department completing work that is within their training and responsibilities for their grade.
