Turning Passion into Purpose.

London South Bank University is excited to be recruiting for the Electronic/Computing Engineer (KTP Associate) position on a 36-month fixed-term contract basis. This post will be based at PB Design’s office (Bristol) with occasional visits to LSBU (Southwark Campus).

London South Bank University (LSBU) has been awarded a 36-month Transfer Partnership (KTP), in collaboration with PB Design Limited (PBD), for a researcher to work as a KTP Associate. This position will allow the successful candidate to join a longstanding collaboration between LSBU and PBD that has arisen through this new KTP.

The KTP Associate will work to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled smart power hub that will obtain and manage energy from multiple power sources (grid, solar, and wind) and storage technologies (e.g. electric vehicles (EVs) and batteries), thereby allowing the company to compete in the growing market of EVs and renewables for NetZero targets and additionally enhance university research portfolio. The KTP Associate will manage the project, supported by the experienced staff from PBD in Bristol and LSBU, Southwark, London.

About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Master's degree or ideally a PhD (or about to be awarded) in a relevant subject area including electrical power engineering, renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, and computing.

  • Understanding of power electronic converters including wide band gap technologies.

  • Strong IT skills and ability to utilise a variety of software such as Microsoft and online databases, PCB Design and PSpice/Multisim.
  • Demonstrate ability in acquiring and interpreting research data and results.

Experience delivering research projects with commercial partners and the ability to draft research papers for publication is also highly desirable.
