The role

Reporting to the Director of Student Life, and playing a key role in the Chief Student Officer Leadership Team, this Interim role of Associate Director of Wellbeing and Disability will:

  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the student wellbeing and disability services for our diverse student body through continuous improvement reviews, preparing for the submission to the University Mental Health Charter and preparing for the introduction of the new OFS E6 Conditions of Registration. 
  • Lead on effective operations of wellbeing and disability services which are proactive, inclusive, consistent, responsive to the spectrum of student need and contribute to the student experience whilst maximising student retention, progression and success, via contributions to the new Access and Participation plans. 
  • Co-ordinate exceptional and complex student welfare cases, and case management, safeguarding cases and sexual misconduct and harassment

The role is integral to the institution's commitment to providing a supportive environment, improving student wellbeing and ensuring all students meet their potential.

About you

The successful candidate will have experience in delivering high quality and forward thinking wellbeing and disability services and will have a strong track record of management in a Higher Education environment. They will have a good understanding of student wellbeing needs and the reasonable adjustment support Universities can put in places to enable the success of all student groups. The role will require a natural, authentic leader who can balance strategic challenges with the imperative to deliver effective solutions through a dedicated team of professionals, keeping student success at the heart of their decision making at all times.

This is a fixed term (up to one year), interim role.
