The University of Cambridge Staff Counselling Centre is currently inviting applications from accredited* and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who would like to work in the dynamic setting of an embedded higher education counselling service.
We are looking for a Staff Counsellor to work within our hybrid working model for 18.5 hours per week, a minimum of which will be two days working in the service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced service practitioner who is looking for a rewarding and fulfilling role in a supportive and inclusive working environment.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a service setting, in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, with a wide range of workplace and personal issues.
You will be able to work in a culturally sensitive way, as a member of a team of 15 counselling professionals, using your own initiative while knowing when to consult with senior colleagues. You will be proficient in working with brief therapeutic interventions and able to hold and manage a caseload with a range of complex presentations.
* You must hold, or be able to demonstrate equivalence with, the accreditation standards of the following professional bodies: BACP, UKCP, BABCP, BPC or as a counselling psychologist, with BPS and HCPC.
In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with adults' barred list) and a health assessment.
