Project description:
Conducting fluid flow measurements is crucial for engineering applications, providing essential insights into the behaviour of fluids under various conditions. Accurate fluid flow data is vital for designing efficient and safe systems, such as optimising the aerodynamics of aircraft, enhancing the performance of turbines, and improving the cooling systems in electronics. These measurements enable precise control and innovation, leading to advancements that enhance performance, safety, and efficacy across diverse applications.
This PhD project aims to develop novel molecular sensors capable of measuring fluid dynamic properties with unprecedented accuracy and resolution. These advanced sensors will be designed to detect and quantify key parameters such as pressure, temperature, and velocity. The project will involve a combination of experimental work, sensor design, and computational modelling to achieve its objectives.
