Student Services / Wellbeing Service
Student Services is a large multi-disciplinary team that plays a crucial role in supporting our students. The Wellbeing Service is an umbrella term used to describe our various teams, Counselling, Disability & Mental Health, Faith, Welfare and Student Liaison. We provide a holistic approach to student support to ensure students’ individual needs are fully met to enhance their academic success, aid student experience and develop each student as an individual. The Wellbeing team is a busy and in-demand service. We are a tight knit team who help and support each other. We work hard and importantly have fun along the way.
The Role
Provide consistent and high quality first point of contact for students accessing support services at UWL.
To lead in the production of ID Cards for students, staff and external stake holders. To manage stock required for the issuing of ID cards as well as lead on orders and delivery in this area.
To assist with and fully understand how to use the Student Support web-based software programme where students book appointments with the various support teams.
To acquire and maintain up to date information on all services available to students at UWL.
To be part of a team monitoring a busy inbox and phone line along with face-to-face enquiries.
Please note that this role is entirely on campus, 5 days per week. There is no remote working available.
The Person
Degree or relevant experience.
Experience of working in a team in a customer facing ‘front line’ service.
Knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education environment and the role of Student Services provision.
Experience working as a super user and web-based software, as well as other office IT packages.
Excellent Customer services skills, strong communication skills and understanding of cross-cultural awareness/working in a diverse community.
